Las Vegas Shooter's Dad 'Psychopathic, Suicidal': FBI
The father of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was put on the FBI's Most Wanted list during the 1960s and had a list of crimes.

SHEBOYGAN, WI —The father of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was put on the FBI's Most Wanted list during the 1960s and had a list of crimes credited to his name.
The shooter's father was "diagnosed as psychopathic, has carried firearms in commission of bank robberies," FBI records indicated. "He reportedly has suicidal tendencies and should be considered armed and very dangerous."
Benjamin Hoskins Paddock was convicted of bank robbery and automobile larceny among other crimes. Aliases for Benjamin Paddock included "Big Daddy" and "Old Baldy," to name a couple, according to FBI records.

He was born Nov. 1, 1926 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and worked as an automobile mechanic, electrician, plumber, salesman and a service station operator, according to FBI records.

According to the Independent, local news reports of the time said his neighbors "couldn’t believe that the colorful businessman, then 34 years old, was involved in crime." Another report said he was captured in 1978 when he was running an illegal bingo parlor.
Paddock was indicted on three counts of robbing Phoenix branches of the Valley National Bank and was caught in 1960 in Las Vegas by the FBI, Fox News reported. The elder Paddock received a 20-year prison sentence, but he escaped federal prison in 1969.
He died in 1998.
