Son And Mom Arrested After Domestic Incident
Police said the son fire a rifle inside a home with children present.

STUYVESANT, NY — A domestic incident in Columbia County lead to a son being charged with felony reckless endangerment and his mother being charged with DWI. State police said they responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Route 25 in the Town of Stuyvesant.
Police said Kevin W. Haberland, 30, of Stuyvesant, had physically accosted a female at a resident during an argument.
While the woman was trying to get out of the place with her children, police said Haberland fired a round from a rifle inside the home.

The bullet exited through a wall and struck a vehicle in the driveway.
Haberland was taken into custody and charged with three counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, felonies, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanors.

While police processed Haberland, his mother — Laurice Haberland — showed up at the Livingston barracks to help her son.
She was determined to be intoxicated by troopers.
Laurice Haberland was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content above 0.08 percent.
She was given traffic citations for the offenses and released to return to Livingston Court Aug. 23.
Kevin Haberlan was arraigned in the Claverack Town Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
He is set to reappear in the Stuyvesant Court Aug. 8.
