State Police Release Sketch Of Robbery Suspect

Police said the man was posing as a Verizon employee, but he didn't have any credentials.

WAPPINGER, NY — The New York State Police released an artist's sketch of a suspect in a robbery that happened last week in the Town of Wappinger. They are seeking the public's help in solving the robbery when a middle-aged man came to an address on Scarborough Lane posing as a Verizon employee around 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

The man did not display any credentials or any type of Verizon insignia.

Police said he told the resident of the home that he had a "special upgrade package" to offer and then entered the residence and pushed the victim before stealing her wallet.

The man was about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with an average build.

He had short, dark hair and was wearing a dark gray short-sleeve button-down shirt, blue pants and dark shoes.
