Tornado Confirmed During Wednesday's Thunderstorm In Wappinger
There were no injuries or fatalities, the National Weather Service said.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY — Along with heavy rain and — in the City of Poughkeepsie — hail, Wednesday afternoon’s severe thunderstorm also produced a tornado. The National Weather Service issued a report Thursday that said there was a brief touchdown of a tornado in the Town of Wappinger in Dutchess County.
The NWS said the twister had an estimated maximum wind speed of 100 mph and was about a quarter mile in width.
The tornado’s path began about 7:14 p.m. near the intersection of Maloney road and Route 376 and traveled due east along and just north of Maloney Road for approximately 1.25 miles before dissipating.

The Enhanced Fujita scale rating was EF-1, being between 86 and 110 mph.
Damage included numerous snapped hardwood and softwood trees and a roof lifted off a shed.
