Using Cell Phone While Driving Yields Stolen SUV Arrest: NYSP
Police said the woman who was driving also had oxycodone in her possession.
HUNTER, NY — A traffic stop because of driving while using a cell phone led to an accusation of car theft for a Pennsylvania woman.
The New York State Police said, shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, a trooper saw the driver of an Infinity QX60 using a cell phone while on Route 23A in the town of Hunter in Greene County.
The driver was identified as Brittany Danko, 31, of Nanticoke, Pennsylvania.

While speaking with her, the trooper said it was learned that the SUV was reported stolen from Coral Gables, Florida.
Danko was arrested and was also found to be in possession of oxycodone that was not in a container or prescribed to her.

She was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. She was also issued a ticket for driving while using a mobile phone.
Danko was released on an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Hunter Court March 2.
