WV Pair Accused Of Having Stolen U-Haul

Troopers also said the people had an infant in a child seat between the driver and passenger seats.

WALLKILL, NY — Two people from West Virginia were accused of having stolen property at a rest stop on Interstate 84 in the Town of Wallkill. State police responded to the Wednesday for a report of a stolen U-Haul.

Troopers found the vehicle in the parking lot and said they verified it had been stolen from Parkersburg, West Virginia.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Toni Walker, 29, of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Her passenger, who was also from Parkersburg, was identified as Joseph Willis, 35.

Troopers said when the pair got out of their car they saw a child seat with an infant seated between the driver seat and passenger seat.

A search of the vehicle found several hypodermic needles and used bags of heroin.

Walker and Willis were both charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, possession of hypodermic needles and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors.

They were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Wallkill Court Jan. 28.
