Car Plows Through Miller Place Dentist's Office
Driver says he swerved to avoid something in the road before crash Thursday afternoon.

A car smashed through the waiting room of a dentist’s office in Miller Place Thursday afternoon just moments after two women had left the room.
No one inside dentist RIchard Gambino’s office, which is located in a home at 242 North Country Road, was hurt in the crash that occurred at about 5 p.m. The driver, a 59-year-old Manorville man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

The driver told police the accident occurred when he swerved to avoid hitting something in the road. No criminal charges have been filed.
A person inside the office at the time said the impact of the crash sounded like a bomb going off.

The Brookhaven building inspector is investigating, police said.
