18-year-old Riverhead man arrested on charges of second-degree attempted murder, assault and multiple weapons charges.

Three Village

Robert Niveyro, 40, of Center Moriches, was arrested Nov. 6 at Stony Brook University Medical Center after a police standoff in which he allegedly barricaded himself in a home in Center Moriches with his two children, ages 5 and 8, after a domestic dispute. He was charged with third degree assault with intent to cause physical injury and second degree obstruction of government administration.

Gonkeylah Yerry, 20, of West Shokan, NY, was arrested Nov. 6 at 1:55 a.m. at the intersection of Route 347 and Arrowhead Lane and charged with DWI and aggravated DWI.

Ryan Randazzo, 22, of Stony Brook, was arrested in Huntington Nov. 9 at 4:00 p.m. and charged with third degree criminal possession of stolen property greater than $3,000. He was allegedly selling stolen jewelry at a pawn shop.

Port Jefferson

Julio Aguilar, 55, from Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Nov. 8 at 12:39 p.m. near Hallock Ave. and Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station. He was charged with third degree assault with intent to cause physical injury for allegedly punching someone in the face.

Mario Mendez, 45, from Coram, was arrested in Port Jefferson Station on Nov. 6 at 10:40 a.m. and charged with third degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was allegedly carrying a switchblade and a firearm.

Matthew Kurovics, 31 from Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Nov. 8 and charged with petty larceny. He allegedly stole money from a cash register at Z-Pita on Main Street in Port Jefferson.

North Fork

Janessa Andruski, 29, of Southold, was charged with driving while impaired by drugs and possession of a controlled substance on Nov. 12 at 7:27 p.m., after Southold Town Police stopped her for a traffic violation on Route 25 in Cutchogue, police said. After investigation, she was found to be impaired by drugs, was arrested, and during processing at headquarters, she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Stephen Latson, 63, of Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Nov. 14 at 7:07 p.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Travelers Street in Southold, police said. After investigation, Latson was found to be intoxicated, was arrested and transported to headquarters in Peconic, where he was held overnight pending arraignment.

Matthew Larson, 23, of Southold, was rescued from the chilly waters of Southold Bay after he was thrown overboard while testing a new motor on his small boat shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 near in Southold, police said.

Members of the, and responded to the scene. Larson had been in the water for about 10 minutes before a passing boater picked him up and took him to Founders Landing, where he was treated and released by members of the Southold Fire Department Rescue Squad, police said.

Chief Martin Flatley identified the driver who hit a brick wall of building on Nov. 15 as Eileen Kiski, 76, of Greenport.

Kiski crashed her 2002 Hyundai into the bank at 10:18 a.m. after she hit the gas in an attempt to leave a parking space, thinking that the car was in reverse, Flatley said. The car lurched forward instead, jumped the curb and hit the building, he said.

Kiski, who said she did not remember what happened, was taken to for a check-up but did not suffer injuries, nor did any passersby or patrons of the bank, Flatley said.

Riverhead

Riverhead Town Police man on charges of second-degree attempted murder, assault and a slew of weapons charges after a shooting on Thursday night led them to the same suspect in the unrelated last week.

Police said Juan F. Soyos-Pixtun shot a 20-year old Riverhead man with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun Thursday night around 10:21 p.m. near Marcy Avenue and Pulaski Street.

Police arrived to find the victim on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg, according to Lt. Robert Peeker. Witnesses at the scene told police that Soyos-Pixtun was the shooter, according to a police statement. The man's wounds were described as "non-life-threatening," police said.

Peeker added that an investigation revealed Soyos-Pixtun as the shooter in what they said was an unrelated incident last Friday night, when police said downtown outside the on West Main Street at about 10 p.m.

On Friday, Soyos-Pixtun, of Phillips Avenue in Riverhead, was arraigned for both incidents at Riverhead Town Justice Court. He was charged with second degree-attempted murder, second-degree criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree criminal use of a firearm in relation to the incident on Thursday. Soyos-Pixtun was also charged with second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a firearm for the Nov. 4 shooting. He was remanded to Suffolk County Jail and is being held on $500,000 bail.
