Crimes Nearby: Stony Brook Man Stole Four Motorcycles

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County and Riverhead Police Departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three Village

A Stony Brook man was arrested April 12 at the Sixth Precinct and charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Police say Jeffrey Anderson, 24, possessed four stolen motorcycles valued at more than $3,000 each, including two 2006 Honda motorcycles, a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle, and a 2007 Honda motorcycle.

The motorcycles were stolen from three different locations in Central Islip and one in Holbrook in September and October of 2008. Anderson was arraigned April 13 at First District Court in Central Islip.

Port Jefferson

Jaclyn Duffy, 22, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested in Stony Brook on April 13 at 8:40 p.m. and charged with DWI. According to police, Duffy struck another vehicle at the corner of Middle Country Road and Hawkins Avenue. Duffy was reportedly driving a 2011 Chevy Camaro when she struck a Chrystler 300. She was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center and treated with non-life threatening injuries.

Anthony Ferrara, 18, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested in Selden on April 15 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident. According to police, Ferrara rear ended a 2007 Toyota at the intersection of County Road 83 and Hawkins Path in Coram. He reportedly fled, and was later caught by police and charged. No injuries were reported in the crash.

A man reported on April 15 that he was mugged on Linden Place by a group of five other men. According to police, a group of five Hispanic males were reported to have caused swelling and bruising to the complainant, who reported having cash and his cell phone stolen as well. He was transported by Port Jefferson Ambulance to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Riverhead

Damon Strong, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested April 9 at 4 a.m. and charged with drunk driving, a misdemeanor, on County Road 104 in Riverside.

Police said Strong had been stalking his girlfriend throughout the day and had followed her to the New York State police barracks in Riverside, where he was handed over to town police for processing after he was observed to be driving while intoxicated.

Strong was charged with failing to keep right and moving unsafely from a vehicle lane, both traffic violations, and additionally, circumventing an alcohol interlock device, a class-A misdemeanor, and fourth-degree stalking, a class-B misdemeanor.
