Crimes Nearby: Unknown Man Burglarizes Stony Brook Cafe

Three Village

Suffolk County police are seeking an unknown person who broke into Jake Starr Café in Stony Brook and stole an empty cash register and an envelope containing cash.

According to a police report, a white male kicked in the door of the restaurant sometime between 11 p.m. on April 20 and 3 a.m. on April 21. Police said the burglar made away with $1,500 in cash.

Kevin Clasen, 32, of Selden, was arrested April 26 in South Setauket and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, Clasen illegally possessed prescription medications in a vehicle at the corner of Chester Street and Bellewood Ave. in Setauket.

Port Jefferson

Kenneth Rongo, 28, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on April 26 on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said he was arrested in front of Orville Drive in Ronkonkoma around 2:50 p.m. Rongo was arrested at 12:46 a.m. the following day on petit larceny charges. According to police, Rongo was in possession of an iPhone that belonged to someone else while on Montauk Highway in Patchogue.
