Mineola School Budget Passes, Board Members Elected

Voters have decided on a proposed 2015-16 budget.

Mineola residents approved the school district’s $89.7 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1,074-370, according to News 12.

The budget includes a 2.12 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.37 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Two school board candidates were elected: Christine Napolitano with 909 votes and Brian Widman with 800 votes, according to News 12.
