• Mineola breaks ground on $2.8 million community center renovation (fingerlakes1.com) — Mineola's community center at 155 Washington Ave. is getting a $2.8 million overhaul, upgrading the gym, classrooms, kitchen, and aging heating and cooling systems by June 2027. Backed by a $1.13 million state grant tied to Mineola's pro-housing certification, the project aims to prevent program disruptions and support year-round sports, senior activities, and village events.
   

• Plainview woman pleads guilty to driving while high on methamphetamine, causing crash that killed man, 55 (newsday.com) — A Plainview woman has pleaded guilty in Mineola to manslaughter, assault, and drugged driving charges stemming from a 2025 crash that killed a Farmingdale man and injured others. She faces four to twelve years in state prison when sentenced in December, in a case handled by the Nassau County District Attorney's Office.
