- Three Nassau County police unions have endorsed former Mineola Mayor Jack Martins in his bid to return as a New York state senator. A resident of Old Westbury, Martins previously represented the 7th District from 2011-2016. PBA President Thomas Shevlin said that the police unions are endorsing candidates that show unequivocal support for law enforcement and are committed to repealing bail reform laws. (The Island 360)
- Following the rise of car thefts in Mineola and Nassau County, police are now reporting an increase in bicycle thefts. They offer three preventive tips to keep your bike from getting stolen: store your bike in a garage if possible, lock your bike to a stationary object, and lock it in a brightly lit area. (Patch)
