7 Years For Owen 'Whiteboy' Drain In Infamous Gunpoint Robbery
In February of 2020, the Yonkers man was arrested and accused of luring a 30-year-old woman in the Bronx into a car in November of 2019.
YONKERS, NY — A Yonkers man was sentenced in connection with a violent 2019 robbery.
Owen Drain, a former Yonkers Parks Department employee, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison. While he was originally charged with kidnapping, that charge was dropped.
The 37-year-old was sentenced on Friday in Manhattan federal court to brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a Hobbs Act and robbery, according to court documents. The court recommended that Drain be placed at FCI Fort Dix or FCI Danbury. Judge Victor Marrero also recommended that Drain participate in a drug treatment program, particularly the residential drug abuse program. After his sentence is served, Drain will be on probation for three years.

In the 2020 indictment, prosecutors said Drain, also known as 'Whiteboy' and 'Tommy,' "seized, confined, inveigled, decoyed, kidnapped, abducted and carried away and held for ransom and reward and otherwise" the victim, using a cell phone to get the victim into a car and using zipties as restraints.
"As alleged in the Indictment, the defendant kidnapped a victim in a car at gunpoint," U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in an announcement about the arrest in 2020. "Thanks to the outstanding work of the FBI and the NYPD, the defendant is now charged in federal court for this extremely serious crime."
