'Horrific Double Murder' Suspect Arrested In Arizona
Police officials said that Luis Gabriel Ramos was possibly on his way to Mexico when he was apprehended by the FBI.

YONKERS, NY — Yonkers police announced an arrest of a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of Isabella Triano and her daughter, Trisha Miller, discovered in a Yonkers home.
Louis Gabriel Ramos was arrested in Arizona by the FBI Phoenix Fugitive Taskforce, Yonkers Police Commissioner John Mueller told reporters at a media briefing Wednesday morning. Mueller said that Ramos was "possibly" on his way to the U.S. border with Mexico.
Mueller described Ramos as an acquaintance of the victims. He added that the suspect, now in custody in Arizona, was arrested less than two weeks ago in Wappingers Falls on a felony arson charge. The police commissioner said that Ramos was released without having to post bail.

“This is an example of law enforcement at its absolute best,” Westchester County District attorney Miriam E. Rocah said, announcing that murder charges have been filed against the 27-year-old Yonkers resident. “Working with urgency, our law enforcement partners at the federal, state and local level and in other states, worked together to make sure that the suspect in a brutal stabbing of a mother and daughter was apprehended and charged. We are so grateful to our partners and their dedication to pursuing justice.”
Police officials said officers from the 2nd Precinct arrived at the house on Shipman Avenue as part of a "welfare check" on Monday afternoon. A concerned friend told police the daughter who lived at the address had not been seen since Friday.

No one at the house answered when police arrived. Officers entered the house after noticing a broken window. The bodies of two women were found inside the home. Both women had been stabbed, according to police officials.
"The right description of the scene is horrific. Horrific," Mueller said on Tuesday morning. "And our hearts go out to the families...In the Yonkers Police Department, we are very, very victim-centric and we want to make sure that we give them time, for us to notify them, and show them respect and concern and extend our real, sincere condolences to the family and friends."
The 70-year-old mother and 38-year-old daughter owned and lived together in the home where the grisly scene was discovered. One of the victims worked for Yonkers Public Schools, police said.
Police officials said there were a lot of items and property in and around the house. Investigators have described the clutter as "hoarding" and said that the sheer amount of items that crime scene units need to process will complicate the investigation.
