New York State Police in Troop K said they removed 27 impaired drivers from public roads over the 2019 Memorial Day weekend. A Mount Vernon man is among those accused.

On May 25, State Police from SP Hawthorne arrested Geraldo Duperon, 23, of Mount Vernon, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the town of Mount Pleasant, when he was involved in a one car motor vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, police said.
