MVPD Needs Your Help Solving Murder Of 19-Year-Old Sergey Tonkovid
The teen was found lying on the curb with a stab wound to the chest Saturday night, in the area of East Lincoln Ave. and North Columbus Ave.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Investigators are hoping someone saw something that could help provide a break in the case of a teen stabbed to death on a city street. Police say witnesses might not even realize they have helpful information or recordings.
On Saturday, shortly after 4 p.m., Mount Vernon police officers responded to the area of East Lincoln Ave. and North Columbus Ave. on a report of a man lying on the curb. When officers arrived on the scene, they found 19-year-old Sergey Tonkovid with a stab wound to his chest. The teen was rushed to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital but eventually succumbed to his wounds.

Mount Vernon detectives are asking that anyone who was in the area of North Columbus Ave. and East Lincoln Ave. on Saturday, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., contact them. In addition, the investigators are seeking to review any video that may have been captured in that area at the time, especially video from "dashboard cameras" in vehicles that passed through the area.
