• Second suspect arrested in 2025 robbery at Mount Vernon gas station (lohud.com) — An alleged accomplice in last summer's armed robbery at a Mount Vernon Avenue gas station has been arrested after nearly a year on the run, according to federal prosecutors. Investigators say the 2025 holdup led to a shootout with NYPD officers near the Bronx border, and the newly arrested suspect now faces federal robbery and firearms charges that could bring decades in prison. 
• Woman indicted on manslaughter charge in Southeast (newportdispatch.com) — A 23-year-old Mount Vernon resident has been indicted on manslaughter and related charges after a January crash on I-684 in Southeast that left another driver dead. Prosecutors say she lost control, hit a guiderail, and collided with another vehicle; she's been released pending a September court appearance, a case many local drivers will be watching closely.
