Cast Your Ballot

Voting is one of the most sacred rights and responsibilities U.S. citizens have, enshrined in the Constitution, secured for us with the blood of patriots, and defended as you read this by our heroes serving in the military. Voting allows each of us to have a direct voice in who represents us at the Federal, State, and local levels.

We must all work to ensure that government reflects the values and direction we wish to see but the ONLY way to do this is to be an active part of our Republic by going out and casting your ballot. That is how you make your voice heard. That is how you help guide Rockland, New York State, and our Nation to the future we all want and deserve.

While turnout is typically higher during Presidential Election years, even then only 60% or so of eligible voters nationwide fulfill this responsibility. I urge everyone who is eligible to go out, vote and make sure your voice is heard.

And in case you needed any more inspiration there are about 1.2 million more reasons for you to make it a priority to vote early or on Election Day itself. Those reasons? 1.2 million is the number of military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice for you, a total stranger, to secure your liberty and your right to vote. Please do so out of respect for them.

This year you can vote for Governor, Comptroller, Supreme Court Justices, your Congressional Representative, State Senator, State Assembly Member, and Village Trustees.

Please take the time now to research the candidates and the issues so you can make an intelligent choice.

Voting is one of the pillars of our democracy and should never be taken for granted.

Who you vote for in each one of these races will decide the future of our County, State and Country. Do the right thing for yourself and your community and get out and vote.
