Clarkstown School Repairs: Forum to Discuss Bond Referendum

This one is Thursday evening.

The next community input session about the proposed Bond for Critical Systems is Thursday.

    FFMS Auditorium

Earlier this year, the Facilities Improvement Committee shared concerns over the aging of our school buildings and repairs that are becoming increasingly urgent. During a September 8th meeting, the committee presented greater details on the three major areas of concern; roofs, boilers and transformers, items that are critical in keeping a building open for daily use. The pros and cons of a variety of action plans were laid out in and the Facility Improvement Committee ultimately recommended to the Board of Education that a bond be issued for this much needed work with the hope of beginning repairs during the summer of 2017.

Should the community approve this bond, the debt, once state aid has been applied, can be paid for with funds already in the budget. No increase in the budget or community taxes would be necessary. The impact of this bond would be budget neutral.
