Players, Fans Needed For Tommy's Turkey Bowl
The fourth annual event will raise money for a special piece of equipment marking Tom McGuire's progress since his diving accident.

NEW CITY, NY — It's almost time for the Tommy's Turkey Bowl Football Tournament. This year is extra special, as the organizers are trying to raise enough money for a special wheelchair for Tommy McGuire, once a quarterback for Clarkstown High School South's varsity team. McGuire was paralyzed in 2016 in a pool accident. He had just graduated from Manhattan College.
"We’re calling on all former gym class heroes to pull your squad together and show some support! And we don’t only need players – we need to fill the stands this year with a rowdy crowd that is ready to eat and take their chances on some great raffle prizes," they said on Facebook.
There is even a new website page where people can donate and also register for the game.

The fundraiser can also use sponsors for the event. The sponsorship fee is $250, a tax deductible donation which can be made through the Help Hope Live Foundation for spinal cord injury patients.
