Staff Changes at Clarkstown Town Hall
The new administration has waded in, according to news reports.

In January, Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann has begun streamlining his government, according to the Clarkstown Daily Voice.
Saving money on personnel is one of the new supervisor’s priorities, and he has his work cut out for him.
Clarkstown’s general staffers are the second-highest paid town employees in the state.

The town of Clarkstown has 398 employees, and almost 300 are in the civil service union; a new contract approved by the outgoing administration provides better than 2 percent raises each year through 2019.
Among the changes: the in-house staff in the town attorney’s office has been cut -- using outside contractors will save benefit costs. A secretary position has also been eliminated, the Daily Voice reported.

A new comptroller has been appointed, Tom Morr. He will be paid less than his predecessor, according to the DV.
