
Dr. Richard T. Falvey died November 4, 2012. He was born in the Bronx on July 10, 1928, the son of Leo and Helen Falvey.
After graduating from LaSalle Academy (NYC), he received his Bachelor's Degree from Georgetown University in 1950. As a student-athlete, he earned 8 varsity letters in baseball and basketball.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Radar Observer Intercept and as a Fighter Director. He was a longtime member of the American Legion in New Rochelle.

In 1952, he married Catherine Gardner in New Rochelle, and attended the Georgetown School of Dentistry. He graduated in 1959 just after the fifth of his thirteen children was born. He opened his dental office in Pelham Manor, NY where he practiced for 46 years; he retired in 2005. His son Dr. Kevin Falvey continues his practice.
He was the loving father of 13 children: Richard (deceased), Stephen, Kevin, Catherine, Sharon, Beth Woodtli, Brian, Christopher, Daniel, Peter, Timothy, William, and Matthew. Loving father-in law to Cathia, Kate, Jennifer, Susan, Caroline, Patti, Deanna, and Erin Falvey and Andrew Woodtli.

Grandfather of Ryan (Jamie), Kellie, Kyle, Devon, Dylan, Bryar, Griffin, Wynn, Caitlin, Megan, Grace, Samantha, Lindsay, Timothy, Catherine, Patrick, Terence, Tayler, Morgan, Brooke, Ryleigh, Matthew, Richard, and Jane Falvey, and Kay, Annie and Eddie Woodtli, and great grandfather of "RJ" and Shay Falvey. His brothers Robert and Raymond survive as well as his many nieces and nephews.
He was chairman of the steering committee which formed the first Parish Council of Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. He was a member of the Iona Prep Fathers' Council. He was past president and a 50 year member of the Rotary Club of the Pelhams. He was a member of the Greater NY Dentists Association, served on the Peer Review Committee of the 9th District Dental Association and was a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.
He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Georgetown University, the LaSalle Academy Hall of Fame, and with his wife was inducted into the Iona Prep Hall of Fame. He volunteered at HOPE Community Services food pantry.
He enjoyed long-time memberships at The Larchmont Shore Club and Wykagyl Country Club.
