Annual Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast at Manhattanville College Nov. 20
The school will host more than 80 organizations from Westchester and Fairfield counties.

More than 80 organizations in Westchester and Fairfield Counties have joined together for the Annual Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 7:45 – 10:00 am at Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY as we celebrate our diverse roots and shared values. This year, we honor three individuals for their exemplary work “Building Bridges: Piece by Peace”: Reverend Paul Alcorn of Westchester Youth Alliance, Janice Lubin Kirschner of JCY-Westchester Community Partners, and Carolyn Kunin of Walking Together.
Presenting the awards will be previous Diversity Breakfast honorees: Geoffrey Anderson of Westchester Residential Opportunities, Bishop Martin Nelson of Bezer Holiness Church, and Rabbi Amiel Wohl of Temple Israel Center of New Rochelle. Additional presenters include State Assemblyman David Buchwald; Dr. Jon Strauss, President of Manhattanville College; Reverend Susan Andrews, General Presbyter for the Hudson River Presbytery; Rabbi Noam Marans, AJC Interreligious and Intergroup Director; a community youth choir; and the Quintessentials Choir of Manhattanville College. The honoree presentation will be followed by facilitated table discussions on the theme for this year’s Breakfast: “Building Bridges: Piece by Peace.”

The Breakfast has expanded to include Fairfield County, and more than 300 interfaith and interethnic leaders from both counties are expected to attend. The event is sponsored by AJC Westchester/Fairfield, The Duchesne Center for Religion and Social Justice, the Hudson River Presbytery, Mamaroneck United Methodist Church, Temple Sholom, and the Westchester Jewish Council. They will represent over 80 organizations, including the Episcopal Diocese of NY; the Catholic Archdiocese of NY, NY Annual Conference (Methodist); and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, New York Stake. Also, many government officials will be in attendance.
