Deanna’s Pizzeria & Restaurant is what Macy’s is to any mall: the anchor. Located in the Wykagyl Shopping Center, countless businesses have come and gone from the center, but after 21 years, Deanna’s remains. Originally located in the space currently occupied by coffee behemoth Starbucks, for 15 years, Deanna’s moved next door six years ago without missing a beat—or a customer.
With offerings for full-course meals during any time of day, the menu here will not disappoint. Gourmet pizzas include Buffalo, Salad, Chicken Marsala and more. Menu prices range from $2 for a slice to $20 for a large pie. Entrees and pasta dishes cost from $11 to $15.95.

According to owner Mike Salvo, the two most popular pizzas’ are Grandma’s—topped with plum tomatoes, basil, and garlic—and Margherita—olive oil, grated cheese and fresh mozzarella. Deanna’s garlic knots have a fan club of their own. In a Google review, a Deanna’s customer wrote: “There is one thing I can say about Deanna’s Pizza, I love it. I choose Deanna’s over any other pizza place in Westchester.”
More than just a pizzeria, Deanna’s is also a full-service catering establishment and, with their policy of selling their pizza dough and all of their sauces, somewhat of an undercover food market as well.
With a nod to the growing dietary needs of various customers, Deanna’s offers gluten-free pasta dishes. Pizza made with whole wheat crust is also now an option.
Deanna’s has been a neighborhood staple for so long, they have become a significant thread in the fabric of the community. Their willingness to give to local school causes is as legendary as their pies. Combining good food and altruistic endeavors is a winning recipe.
