Connecticut Man Arrested In Hit-And-Run Crash That Injured 2
Police said that when they caught up with the Stamford driver, he was at the New Rochelle Station, waiting for a train.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Connecticut man sought an alternate mode of transportation after he was involved in a hit-and-run collision, according to New Rochelle police.
On Wednesday, just before 8 p.m, a pickup truck exited I-95 northbound at Exit 16 and was involved in a head-on collision with a four-door Toyota sedan near the intersection of Garden Street and Cottage Place.
The driver of the pickup truck then fled the scene, according to police.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, and passenger, a 25-year-old woman, in the Toyota sedan had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Officers soon located the pickup involved in the crash at the New Rochelle Train Station. A short time later, police found the driver, Rogelio Salamanca-Lopez, who was awaiting a train. Further investigation led officers to believe the 35-year-old was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest.

Salamanca-Lopez was charged with fleeing a police officer, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
