IEY Students Perform Bachelor King this Weekend

A talented and enthusiastic cast at Isaac E. Young Middle School have been rehearsing for the spring play – Bachelor King!  The show will be this Friday, May 31st at 7:00pm and Saturday, June 1st at 7:00pm.  Don’t miss it!

The show is a comedy with chaos and intrigue.  Come out and support the kids and our school.  This is a perfect family friendly show for all ages.  Students worked with Claudia Cassone, Producer-Art Director and Annie Howell-Benitez, Director.  The set construction was spearheaded by Ted Fleming.  Our set designer is talented IEY alumni Samantha Carroll with John Thompson on sound.  Snack bar by IEY PTA!

Here is a brief synopsis of Bachelor King by pioneerdrama.com -- “Poor King Evian uses his last dying words (as he falls out the window) to pass royal succession not to greedy Prince Daft but to Yokel, a foolish hillbilly.  His staff brings in eligible young ladies to vie for the new king’s hand, including a high-society matron, a four-times-married gold digger; a ditzy cheerleader from L.A.; a New York City gangster-type; and a true-hearted cowgirl from Texas. The five ladies are tested on their abilities in true American Idol fashion (no talent necessary, of course!), followed by a Survivor challenge. Of course, Yokel has other problems to deal with including a slew of unsuccessful, harebrained assassination plots. Yokel finds his true love and saves his kingdom from ruin!”
