New Rochelle Man Accused Of Leaving Child In Hot Car

Authorities said the man left the child in the hot car for 15 minutes.

A New Rochelle man was arrested Thursday after he was accused of leaving his 4-year-old son in his car in a Queens parking lot. Authorities said Geremie Ram, 42, of New Rochelle, was charged with child endangerment and reckless endangerment.

Ram was accused of leaving his son in the car for 15 minutes while temperatures were in the mid-80s, the Journal News reported.

Ram was also charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, because, police said, he was found with Xanax.

According to a New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Facebook post, city firefighter Matthew Clinton was in the parking lot and broke the driver's side window to get the child out of the car.

On July 26, Juan Rodriguez, of New City in Rockland County, left his 1-year-old twins in a car while he worked his shift at the VA Medical Center in the Bronx. He was charged with two counts of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.

The Bronx district attorney delayed taking the case to the grand jury.
