Not Snow Jolly Hudson Valley Holiday Hazardous Weather Outlook
Most of the region won't meet the threshold for a white Christmas but there will be enough of the fluffy stuff to cause icy roads.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — National Weather Service forecasters are anticipating potentially dangerous road conditions for a large swath of the Hudson Valley leading into the holiday.
The National Weather Service in New York issued a hazardous weather outlook for parts of Westchester, Orange, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster counties starting on Thursday and continuing through Santa's arrival on Christmas Eve.
For parts of Westchester, Orange, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster counties, a quick-moving, weak, low-pressure system will bring potential for a light coating of snowfall, less than an inch, tonight into early Friday morning, according to the latest forecast. Another quick-moving, low-pressure system will bring a light wintry mix of mainly sleet and freezing rain Friday night into early Christmas morning, before transitioning to rain.
