New Rochelle to Host Tall Ship Lynx for 250th Anniversary Celebration (talkofthesound.com) — New Rochelle residents can tour the historic-style tall ship Lynx at the Municipal Marina on Saturday, October 17, with free parking and tickets available at Hudson Park. Alongside the tours, Hudson Park will host reenactors, music, and colonial games as part of the American Revolution 250th celebrations, plus related events like a tavern night and a battle reenactment nearby.

New Rochelle Seeks Residents for Board of Education Audit Committee (talkofthesound.com) — New Rochelle's Board of Education is looking for two local residents with financial or auditing expertise to serve on its Audit Committee, which meets quarterly and works remotely. Interested community members must email their background and experience by 5 p.m. on October 23, 2026, helping strengthen transparency and oversight in the city's schools.

Flushing woman arrested on felony drug charges after Thruway stop in Rye (ny.gov) — State Police based out of the New Rochelle barracks processed a Flushing woman's arrest after troopers say they found about 21.5 grams of suspected cocaine during a Thruway stop in Rye. She faces felony drug possession and intent-to-sell charges, plus traffic citations, and is due back in Rye City Court on October 20.

4. Volleyball Drops Five-Set Battle at Iona (gogriffs.com) — New Rochelle's Hynes Athletic Center hosted a tight five-set Metro Conference volleyball battle where Iona edged Canisius 3–2 behind 20 kills from Julia Leonardo. Canisius players posted several career-best performances in kills, digs, and service aces, but a late Iona rally in the deciding set sealed the Gaels' home win.

New Rochelle Man Arrested for Aggravated DWI (.18%+) on Thruway (talkofthesound.com) — An early-morning DWI arrest on the New Rochelle Thruway involved a 26-year-old local man accused of driving with a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. State Police say he faces multiple DWI-related charges but was released to a third party after being taken into custody within the city.
