Police Investigating 2 Saturday Night Robberies In New Rochelle
Anyone with information about the incidents in the Edgewood Park or the Union Ave areas is asked to contact NRPD.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle police say they are actively investigating two separate robberies that took place Saturday night, in the Edgewood Park and Union Avenue areas.
Around 9:39 p.m., a resident in Edgewood Park reported being assaulted and robbed while working on his vehicle in the driveway of his Lockwood Ave. home. The victim described the suspect as an unknown man wearing a black hoodie.
The suspect approached the resident from behind, struck the victim, and stole several items, including a gold chain, a brand new phone, and credit cards. The victim told police that he believes the suspect fled towards Feeney Park. Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. The stolen phone did not have tracking information available.

Later Saturday evening, around 11:24 p.m., police were flagged down by a clerk from a Union Ave. store. He reported a robbery that took place around 9:54 p.m., when a Hispanic man wearing a white sweatshirt entered the store and demanded cash. The suspect reportedly implied he was armed by repeatedly placing his hand in his waistband, but no firearm was displayed, according to police. When the clerk attempted to call police, the suspect took his phone and threatened him. The clerk gave the suspect $150 in cash.
The New Rochelle Police Department says it is committed to ensuring the safety of the community and is looking to the public for help bringing the suspects to justice. Police ask that anyone with information about either incident or who may have seen suspicious activity in the Edgewood Park or Union Ave. areas contact them immediately, by calling 914-654-2300 or using the anonymous tip line at 914-632-COPS.
