Woman Armed With Gun Threatens To 'Pop' Officers: Police
Police say that while the incident was initially assessed as a routine call, officers soon realized there were "underlying complexities."

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A dispute on the street was made all the more precarious when an armed woman threatened officers, according to the New Rochelle Police Department.
The New Rochelle Police Department says that on Saturday, at 1:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of two women involved in a physical altercation on Lincoln Ave.
Police say that while the incident was initially assessed as a routine call, officers soon realized there were "underlying complexities."

One of the women was visibly agitated and uncooperative, according to police. In order to help the woman calm down, the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) was called to provide assistance.
However, police say the woman declined help and made a direct threat toward the officers, saying she would "pop" them.

While investigating, police found that the woman was in possession of a loaded handgun at the time she issued the threat.
27-year-old Olivia Wilson, of New Rochelle, was arrested and charged with felony second degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor second degree menacing, and misdemeanor third degree assault.
"The situation was carefully managed by our officers, who demonstrated professionalism without having to use force during the encounter," NRPD said. "The New Rochelle Police Department remains dedicated to serving and protecting the community while responding to situations with the utmost professionalism."
