5 Boats Ablaze At North Fork Marina: Police

GREENPORT, NY — Five boats were found ablaze at a Southold marina early Monday, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 3:40 a.m. at Albertson Marine, located on Route 25 in Southold.

Police received a report of a boat fire and, upon arrival, an officer found five winterized boats that were stored outside engulfed in flames, officials said.

The Southold Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire without incident, police said.

The Southold Fire Department did not determine a cause and requested Suffolk County arson to investigate further, police said.
