Dog Desperately Needs Home After Owner Dies Suddenly
"We need to find a home for this sweet girl."

SOUTHOLD, NY — A dog whose owner died suddenly is in desperate need of a new home.
Southold resident Jill Franke said the dog, Luna, belonged to her friend Monique's father, who passed away unexpectedly — the two families have been close for years, since Franke's father was good friends with Luna's owner.
Luna is a "pretty pit mix . . . about a year old. She's sweet — and needs a loving home ASAP," Franke said.

Luna has not been spayed, she said. Although her owner was originally from Southold, he moved to the Bronx when his wife died a few years ago; both daughters in the family attended Southold schools.
Luna is currently in her owner's Bronx apartment but can be brought to the North Fork if a new family is found.

"Thanks for all your help," Monique said. "I understand how hard it is to find someone to take her. Hopefully someone will see her and want her."
"We need to find a home for this sweet girl," Franke added.
