Man Charged With DWI After Greenport Crash: Police
The crash took place east of Chapel Lane, police said.

GREENPORT, NY —A man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash in Greenport Tuesday, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 7:48 p.m. on Route 25 east of Chapel Lane; Edy Maldonado Giron, of Greenport, was found to be intoxicated, police said.
He was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense; driving while using a portable electronic device; moving from lane unsafely; and driving both without a license and a seat belt, police said.

Maldonado Giron was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and was released at the hospital on a field appearance ticket to appear at a later court date, police said.
