Man Impaired By Drugs Crashes Into Greenport Utility Pole: PD
The crash took place in Greenport Tuesday, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by drugs after he crashed into a utility police Tuesday afternoon, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the single-car crash took place at 5:18 p.m. on Route 48 near Albertson Lane in Greenport when Hermogenes Aguilera, 38, who was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger east, collided into the pole.
Southold Town Police and the Greenport Fire Department responded to the scene, authorities said.

Aguilera was found to be under the influence of prescription medication, arrested, and charged with first-degree operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, police said.
Aguilera was transported to Southold Town Police headquarters where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
