This year will mark the five-year anniversary since the Board of Education reinstated the musicals at Mattituck High School.

For the first time, the show will have students who have been in the cast for every year of their high school career, according to Anne Gilvarry, one of the directors of the musical.

“We’re continuing to work to expand the program with more school / community involvement each year,” Gilvarry said. “This year, we have faculty actors, a new faculty set designer, and faculty, students, and administration in the pit, as well as local community members involved with choreography and in the pit. It feels like it’s really growing into a very special community effort.”
