Mattituck Jr. Sr. High School Students Accepted Into Student Leader Training For HUGS Program

The students will be assisting in weekend seminars at Camp Quinnipet on Shelter Island.

Three students from Mattituck Jr. Sr. High School have been accepted into Student Leader training for Human Understanding and Growth Seminars (HUGS) Leadership program as the school’s representatives, according to the school’s Facebook page.

Haley Unger, Brianne Briggman and Shane Uher will assist in facilitating weekend seminars for East End high School students at Camp Quinnipet on Shelter Island.

HUGS is a non-profit alcohol and drug prevention agency that provides high quality education and prevention programs for youth and the communities we serve, according to their website.

HUGS facilitates the Long Island Teen Institute, a comprehensive 48 hour training which creates opportunities for individuals to learn, enhance their interpersonal and leadership skills and create memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
