GREENPORT, NY — All eyes were on Greenport as the 30th Annual East End Maritime Festival delighted crowds under sunny blues skies near the sparkling waterfront this weekend.
Presented by the East End Seaport Museum & Seaport Foundation, the festivities kicked off Friday with the Land & Sea Gala.
Those who turned out all weekend enjoyed exhibitions of classic, wooden and ice boats, Irish step dancing, electric boat harbor tours by the Glory, live music, coffee sack races, food, oyster, wine and beer tastings, craft and nautical demonstrations, artisan craft vendors, the "Fire Fighter" fireboat, kids' activities and Mystic Whaler Harbor Cruise Sails.

A highlight of the event unfolded Saturday with the Maritime Festival Parade, featuring a new float, the "Sea Goddess" dory painted by artist Carole Waloski. Immediately following was the Merry Merfolk contest judging.
The weekend also included kayak races, a Chowder Fest contest, a snapper fishing contest, and memories made in every corner of the village.
