🌱 North Fork Daily: John May Mile Raises $23K + Free Smoke Detectors
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today on the North Fork.

Happy Tuesday, North Fork neighbors and friends. Here's a look at what's in the news today.
Our top story centers on the John May Mile, which raised more than $23,000 for the Greenport Fire Department, despite soggy skies Saturday. Since the kickoff event in 2005, the annual John May Mile and 5K has raised more than $325,000 to support local first responders. According to the Greenport Fire Department, funds raised are used toward the purchase and maintenance of rescue equipment vital to keeping volunteers safe.
Giving back is a hallmark of our beautiful North Fork, and events such as the John May Mile are a reminder of what we find most important — caring for one another, with consistency and dedication, year after year.
Until tomorrow. . . .
