Southold Town Board Appoints New Town Attorney
The new attorney was elected unanimously at the Town Board meeting earlier this week.

William Duffy was appointed as town attorney after the Southold Town Board voted unanimously during the meeting on Tuesday, according to a report in SoutholdLocal.
Duffy, who is currently the Riverhead deputy town attorney, will begin his new position on March 24, with a salary of $118,000, according to the report.
“We had several good choices. Mr. Duffy has been working for Riverhead and has a great deal experience dealing with the challenges an East End town faces,” Scott Russell, Southold Town Supervisor told SoutholdLocal. “He is ideally suited to help Southold move into the future.”
