Village of Greenport Implements New Meeting Schedule
Village Board trustees kicked off the new date and time of local meetings at last night's work session.

The Village of Greenport announced earlier this week that they will be changing the date and times of the monthly Board of Trustees meeting.
The monthly meetings will continue to be held at the firehouse on Third Street.
However the work session meetings will now take place on the third Thursday of every month starting at 7 p.m. and the regular session meetings will now take place on the fourth Thursday of every month starting at 7 p.m.

The time change was implements for several reasons including: to allow workers to get paperwork done before board meetings, to give members of the board time to have dinner and give local residents a better chance to attend meetings, according to SoutholdLocal.
Last Thursday’s work session was the first meeting where the time change was implemented and was also the first meeting run by newly elected mayor George W. Hubbard and newly elected trustees Doug Roberts and Jack Martilotta.
