Northport- East Northport School Budget Passes, Board Members Elected

Northport- East Northport residents approved the school district’s $159.6 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 3,281-788, according to the school district.

The budget includes a 0.30 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.30 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Three school board candidates were elected: Tammie Topel (2,130 votes), David Badanes (2,446 votes) and David G. Stein (2,548 votes).
