Police Log: Driver Screams Obscenities at Man in Driveway

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department Log.

Monday, April 20

At 10:09 a.m., police assisted a 22-month-old girl who was having trouble breathing on Norwood Avenue. Northport Rescue transported her to Huntington Hospital.

At 3:02 p.m., police assisted a man who locked himself out of his 2013 Honda on Main Street. Officers opened the vehicle with a car unlocking tool. No damage was reported.

Tuesday, April 21

At 7:03 a.m., police reported petty larceny in which a black Tony Burch bag, containing an Apple iPad, checkbooks and other financial paperwork, was stolen from a vehicle on Woodbine Avenue. The thief entered the vehicle by smashing the rear driver’s side window, police said.

At 10:51 a.m., police received a report that a woman believes she was being followed by another car near Laurel Avenue. The woman believes this incident has happened before, police said.

At 12:30 p.m., police received a report that a man was standing in his driveway on Main Street when a man drove by and yelled obscenities at him and said “I’m going to get you mother (expletive).” Similar incidents between the men have happened before, police said. The man said the ongoing behavior is because of an incident in November that involved the two men and his girlfriend.

Wednesday, April 22

At 7:36 a.m., police received a report of a sick opossum on Clipper Drive. The animal was found to be deceased upon officer arrival and they properly disposed of the dead animal.
