Voter's Guide: Northport School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day. And a quick poll.

Northport residents will vote on the school district’s $159.6 million proposed budget for the 2015-16 school year on Tuesday, May 19.

The proposal calls for a .30 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.30 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Seven candidates are seeking the three available seats on the Northport-East Northport School Board, TBR News Media reports.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Election District 1: Residents living south of the center line of Pulaski Road vote at Fifth Avenue Elementary School
  • Election District 2: Residents living north of the center line of Pulaski Road and south of the center line of Route 25A vote at Dickinson Avenue School
  • Election District 3: Residents living north of the center line of Route 25A vote at William J. Brosnan School
