Cops: Driving on the Shoulder on Rte 303 Results in Felony DWI Charge
Clarkstown police made the traffic stop in West Nyack at 5:20AM

NYACK, NY — Clarkstown Police Department charged a 45-year-old man with DWI in West Nyack after a patrol officer stopped the vehicle on Rt. 303 at 5:20 a.m. Nov. 12 for a traffic infraction.
The driver, Edwin Zarzuela, 45, of New Windsor, NY was interviewed and appeared to be intoxicated, police said.
He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he failed a breathalyzer test. In addition, police found that Zarzuela has a prior DWI conviction.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated (felony), aggravated unlicensed operator 1st (felony), aggravated DWI and driving on the shoulder (violation).
He was arraigned at Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $5,000. Zarzuela was transported to Rockland County Jail and he will return to court on Nov. 16.
