• Two Defendants Plead Guilty to Selling Cocaine in Nyack (rocklandtimes.com) — Two men have pleaded guilty to selling crack cocaine in Nyack as part of the Rockland DA's "Operation Spring Cleaning," with both facing multi-year state prison sentences. Prosecutors say the coordinated task force effort aims to reduce dangerous drug activity in local neighborhoods, with sentencing set for December 15 in Rockland County Court.
   

• Skoufis, Rand propose ending MTA clothing tax in Orange, Rockland (midhudsonnews.com) — Nyack Mayor Joe Rand is teaming with state Sen. James Skoufis on a proposal to eliminate the 0.375% MTA clothing sales tax for Rockland and Orange residents, who already have limited train service. They argue counties like Rockland, which rely on retail hubs such as Palisades Mall, are unfairly burdened compared with New York City and nearby counties that pay no such surcharge.
