Carla Rae Johnson's exhibit, "Portrait of the Artist as an Arrogant American" features a series of large charcoal self portraits that explore the disconnect between our espoused values as Amercian and our collective actions. The artist's humorous, albeit thoughtful works, pose challenging questions for viewers. These include issues regarding threatened environment, our sense dependence upon technology and othere notions regarding human rights.
