Thursday, May 14 at 1pm
Art Historian Irene Wisoff will be here to give a slide presentation of the newest, the biggest and the most nostalgic museums in western Massachusetts have year round collections that include French Impressionism (the Clark), a complete display of American illustration artwork (Norman Rockwell) and three stories of mural size paintings from the entire career of contemporary artist Sol LeWitt (Mass MoCA).
Each site is unique: the Clark buildings are in a natural park-like setting of 140 acres, Mass MoCA uses the spaces of 25 nineteenth century factory buildings and the Norman Rockwell Museum and studio are surrounded by 36 acres of lawn, gardens and outdoor sculpture. The sites contribute to the enjoyment of the art.
