The New Bridge: Grant Money and Path Talks

South Nyack's Mayor sent out an update.

South Nyack Mayor Bonnie Christian reported on two developments connecting the bridge project and the village:

First, South Nyack has been awarded a $127,025 grant from the NEW NY Bridge Project’s Community Benefits Program to support drainage improvements on Piermont Avenue. The work should begin sometime in the near future.

Second, the review process continues on where the pedestrian and bike path will end in South Nyack.

“NEW NY Bridge engineers and Thruway Authority representatives continue to review several proposed concepts for the terminus of the Shared Use Path at Interchange 10,“ she said in her Mayor’s Update email. “Representatives of the Thruway Authority and the NEW NY Bridge team continue to meet with me and the South Nyack Tappan Zee Task Force (Richard Kohlhausen, Greg Toolan, Connie Coker, Jerry Ilowite, and Nancy Willen) to review the options and discuss potential traffic and environmental impacts on the neighborhoods of South Nyack. The Task Force is pressing for a public presentation by the Thruway Authority in order to review the options with the public and allow for public commentary.”
